Tuition and Fees FAQs

How is tuition determined?
Tuition is based on the program your child is enrolled in and their age as of September 30. It is calculated to cover the entire academic year (10 months), including scheduled school closures.

Are tuition payments made annually or monthly installments?
Families can choose to pay tuition annually or in monthly installments. There are ten monthly installments for the Academic Year, with the first being billed on July 25th and the last on April 25th . Summer Camp is billed in two installments, in May and June.

How can I pay tuition?
THE WOODS partners with FACTS tuition management as the only way to pay tuition. To sign up for our tuition management system, please go to the FACTS website and register. Funds will be deducted from your account on or about the 25th of the month to ensure receipt by the 1st of the month. Please check your specific tuition schedule for specific details.

What happens if I miss a tuition payment?
FACTS will automatically deduct your payment from the account of your choosing. However, if there is an issue, such as insufficient funds, a $30 fee will be assessed to your account, and a second attempt for payment will occur 10 days thereafter. There will be three automatic attempts for payment.

Do you offer discounts for paying tuition in full?
Yes, there is a 2.5% discount when the annual tuition is paid in full by August 1.

Do you offer a sibling discount?
Yes, we offer a 10% sibling discount for the first sibling and a 5% discount for all additional siblings. The discount will be taken off the older sibling’s tuition. Sibling discounts are applied only to the Academic Year tuition.

How is tuition calculated with mid-year enrollment?
Tuition for children enrolling mid-year will be prorated to reflect the number of weeks of anticipated attendance for the remainder of the School Year. Please note the monthly installment for prorated tuition may be higher or lower than the rates listed on the Tuition and Fees page, depending upon the timing of enrollment.

Are there any additional fees beyond tuition?

Yes, the additional fees include application fees, enrollment fees, deposits (if applicable), material fees, school lunches (if applicable), and field trip fees (if applicable). Specific details are provided during the admissions process.

Does tuition include meals and snacks?
Tuition includes two snacks per day (morning and afternoon snacks). School lunch costs $5.75 per day for Toddler and Children’s House students. School Lunch is optional and will be billed monthly.

Is financial aid available?
The Springs works with the Virginia Department of Social Services Subsidy program and CCA (Child Care Aware) and MCCYN (Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood) for active-duty military families. We recommend consulting their websites for more information as they work on a case-by-case basis. No other financial aid is available other than through those programs.

What is the policy on refunds for tuition?
Tuition is non-refundable, even in cases of absences, vacations, or early withdrawal. For students enrolling mid-year, tuition is prorated based on the number of weeks remaining. Please consult the Parent Handbook, available on our Parent Portal, for more information about our policy.

Are there fees for extracurricular activities?
Some extracurricular activities may have additional fees, which will be outlined when registering for those programs.

Are field trip fees included in tuition?
Field trip fees are not included in tuition. For the school year, there is an additional cost of $100 for Kindergarten students (2 field trips). Only Kindergarten students attend field trips, which are not mandatory.
